So, Who Do Dentists See For Their Dental Treatment?

Sometimes, on vacation I ponder ideas for Blogs! And I think how a person decides which dentist to see is not always an easy question.  I am very pleased to have been selected by other dentists in our Grand Junction, Colorado area when they were asked who they see or recommend to others for dental treatment.

How to select a dentist.

Pondering options for selecting a dentist.

This very good question has been asked by “5280 The Denver Magazine” and their answers are posted on TOPDENTISTS, LLC www.usatopdentists.com.  As stated by the magazine 5280, “Oral health is an important part of your overall well-being, but choosing the right dentist isn’t as simple as walking into the closest dental office.  Lucky for you, we already did the heavy lifting:  5280 teamed up with top Dentists, a company that creates nationwide dentist listings, to locate Colorado’s 598 best dentists. A healthy smile is just a click away.”  They are fair to note that there are many fine dentists who are not included in the list.

So how do they come up with the list?  TopDentists asked dentists and specialists a personal question:  “If you had a patient in need of a dentist, which dentist would you refer him or her to?”  The nominating pool was made up of dentists listed online with the American Dental Association (ADA).  Not all dentists are part of the ADA, but most are.  Dentists and specialists also could nominate a dentist that was not on the ADA list.  Some of the qualities respondents to the survey (Dr. Julie Gillis is on the ADA list and was also asked to complete this survey) were asked to consider were the following: dentist’s experience, continuing education, chair side manor, and use of new techniques and technologies. Then dentists were checked against state dental boards to make sure they are in good standing.

A dentists inclusion on the list is based on the subjective judgments of fellow dentists.  In Grand Junction, Colorado, there were eight general dentists selected for the list of which Dr. Julie Gillis was one.  This is pretty awesome considering there are over 60 general dentists in the Grand Junction area!

If you are new to an area and looking for a dentist, topDentists may be a good way to find someone. Our office also recommends asking dental specialists such as Endodontists, Orthodontists, or Oral Surgeons who they would recommend as they see the work and the patients of many dentists in the area and in that way get a fell for their dental work and patient care. Dr. Gillis is honored to be the chosen dentist for some Grand Junction, Colorado specialists.

Yours for better dental health,

Julie Gillis DDS, AAACD
