Our Fourth Free Dental Day was a success! We were concerned having it so late in the year that bad weather and holiday activities might make it difficult for people to come in for treatment. We did see fewer patients this year but were able to do more services for the people that were seen. The weather cooperated and on November 23, 2013 we held our free dental day. December 13, 2013

Our office would like to give back to the community that has given us so much. On November 23rd our office along with the offices of Dr. Kenneth Perino and Dr. Duane Weenig, Dr.’s Joe and Kira Funderburk, our hygienists, and our dental staff members donated basic dental treatment to persons in our community -in and around Grand Junction, Colorado – who are unable to afford dental care. Services included oral cancer screenings, x-rays, cleanings, fillings and extractions – one or two procedures per patient. We screened patients on Friday, October 22nd at Dr. Gillis’ and Dr. Weenig’s office.

In all we completed 115 extractions, 8 fluoride treatments, 33 composites and crown build-ups, 43 cleanings and periodontal debridements, 11 periodontal surgeries and numerous x-rays, exams and oral cancer screenings for a total of $68,717.00 in donated services. None of this would have been possible without all the help and support of people like you!

Our office looks forward to another successful event next year while moving it back to September or October and will keep you up to date with what is to come in the future! Again, thank you for all the support you have shown us! We greatly appreciate you!
