Teeth Replacement Solution
If you’ve suffered permanent dental damage to all or most of your teeth, getting through the day can be a struggle. You might be too self-conscious to return a smile, and you’re probably missing out on your favorite foods. Dr. Gillis’s Grand Junction office has a dependable solution for your look and self-image. We offer custom-fitted dentures and partial dentures as a removable and easy-to-clean solution.
When patients first come to our relaxed and peaceful office environment looking for a resolution to their tooth loss, most find it hard to believe that dentures or partials will be sturdy and reliable enough for their dental needs. Ill-fitting dentures are a thing of the past! Our staff works hard to ensure that your new smile solution will be dependable and secure. The dentures that we offer are designed and created to fit your jaw and mouth.
The benefits of dentures or partials are numerous. First, you’ll be able to eat much more normally than you’d be able to manage without tooth replacement, so you won’t have to sacrifice as many of your favorite dishes. Next, dentures will provide the support your facial muscles need to prevent changes to the shape of your face. The muscles in your cheeks need support to avoid drooping inward and sagging. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, you’ll be able to regain confidence as you return smiles with a stunning one of your own.
A full denture is a great solution if you need to replace all of your teeth. A partial denture works when some teeth are missing, while other natural teeth stay intact. Partials are supported and held in place by your existing strong teeth, and full dentures require suction and perhaps a dental adhesive to remain in place. Dental implants can be used to help make your denture feel more secure. Both partial dentures and full dentures are removable and easy to clean. Just use a toothbrush to clean your denture or partial denture, and then soak it overnight in water, perhaps with an added denture-cleaning tablet. It is very important that your denture fits well. Dr. Gillis works with very talented lab technicians to help achieve an excellent fit, with good appearance and function.
Dr. Gillis and her staff want you to reclaim full function of your mouth and replace teeth as comfortably as possible. We will serve your needs with the consideration and compassion that you deserve, so there’s no need to feel anxious. Our team works with patients who need dentures and partials from the Western Slope of Colorado and Utah. Most are from Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, Clifton, and Orchard Mesa.

Meet Kathy
Dentures are removable, custom-fitted replacement teeth that are crafted from strong, durable materials – like acrylic resin – which can be reinforced with porcelain or metal. There are two main types of dentures: complete and partial. Kathy replaced her worn upper denture and restored her lower teeth to be healthy, strong, and beautiful!
These are a few of the common problems we see:
- Dentures should be comfortable. Although you may need time to adjust to a new denture, you should not accept continuous pain or discomfort.
- Dentures should not come loose unexpectedly.
- Denture teeth will wear with time which may result in an incorrect bite or a poor appearance.
- Changes in the denture fit and condition can lead to swollen gums and soreness, along with eating and speaking problems.
Simply relining your existing denture may correct problems caused by changes to the soft and hard tissue in your mouth. In other cases, a complete new denture may be required.
Several appointments may be required to get the correct fit. Make sure you select a dentist who is willing to take the time necessary to make a denture that fits you correctly and looks natural.
Kathy came to see us last year with a worn denture and severely worn lower teeth. After a review of the options, she decided to replace her upper dentures and restore her lower teeth to be healthy, strong, and beautiful. Kathy loves her new smile!
