Doctor, staff, and patients benefit from volunteering!
Dr. Gillis has volunteered with Dental Lifeline Network-Colorado since 1989. She volunteers her services through a program called Donated Dental Services. Through this program, Dr. Gillis and her team provide comprehensive treatment to those that lack adequate income to pay for dental care. These patients are either permanently disabled, medically at-risk or 65 years or older.
One such patient, Jeane, came to us with a poor fitting upper and lower denture. She is permanently disabled and lacks the adequate income to care for her teeth. All of her family have passed away and she uses a service dog to assist her in everyday situations. She has a number of health problems. She is worried that she looks like she has “jowels” and wants to feel comfortable going out in the world again. Dr. Gillis was able to give Jeane new upper and lower dentures and bring back her smile! She could easily be 10 years younger! Jeane loves her new smile!
